We will be discussing "Afterparties" by Anthony Veasna So. Published posthumously, this collection of short stories follows the lives of the children of Cambodian refugees carving new paths for themselves in California. Stories include two drunken brothers scheming against a shady uncle at a wedding afterparty, a queer love affair between a tech entrepreneur and a disillusioned teacher, and a young child learning that his mother survived a racist school shooter.
